Vermiculite is a naturally occurring, non toxix, soft mica mineral heated to a high temperature to produce a lightweight sterile, laminated structure. Fine grade vermiculite is idea for seed sowing and pricking out. Absorbs nutrients preventing them from being washed out and then releases them to the plant roots. Insulates against fluctuations in surface temperature when used as a seed covering.
