This dark blue iris flowers in February/March, iris reticulata grow to around 15cm tall.
Iris like full sun or partial shade and an open soil with plenty of humus and good drainage.
They naturalise well in rockeries edges of borders and containers.
Remove faded flowers and aplly fertiliser four/five weeks after flowering. When clumps become too crowded lift divide and replant about 2 weeks after flowering.
Why not plant a winter corner near the house along with anemone de caen and galanthus nivalis (snowdrops).
