Pea and Bean Booster

Mr Fothergill's Pea and Bean Booster contains a culture of completely natural and harmless soil bacteria. This Rhizobium bacteria is carried in a small quantity of natural powdered clay. With the help of these friendly bacteria pea and bean plants are able to make or fix all the nitrogen they need to reach their full potential, producing large, healthy crops.

When bacteria penetrate the roots, specialised structures called nodules are formed which then fix nitrogen and supply it to the plant as and when it's required.

The bacteria can only form nodules on the roots of peas and beans so they cannot supply nitrogen to any other plants. So unlike traditional fertilisers they do not feed the weeds and no nitrogen is wasted or washed away into the ground water potentially damaging nearby streams, rivers or other natural ecosystems.
