Cara potaoes are high yielding with a creamy texture. They have a natural resistance to both pests and diseases. Cara seed potatoes produce high yields - a classic baking variety with pink eyes. Also ideal for mashing and chipping.
Cara seed potatoes are great for:
Planting can take place as soon as the risk of frost has passed in your area, during spring, March-May. Plant 10-13cm (4-5inches) deep in shallow ridges. Seed should be 20-23cm (8-9inches) apart in the row, with 60cm (24inches) between each row.
Earth the plants up when they are 20cm (8inches) tall. This encourages a higher yield of potatoes.
Watering your plants well will improve crop yield and discourage scab from forming.
