With their high yield nice flavour, these second early seed potatoes make a great choice. Wilja seed potatoes are a British Gardener's favourite with pale yellow, floury flesh which stores well. Ideal for boiling or making into potato wedges. Wilja is also slug and disease resistant.
Wilja seed potatoes are great for:
To sprout seed potatoes, place in a light, cool area. Protect from frost.
Planting can take place as soon as the risk of frost has passed in your area, during spring, March-May. Plant 10-13cm (4-5inches) deep in shallow ridges. Seed should be 20-23cm (8-9inches) apart in the row, with 60cm (24inches) between each row.
Earth the plants up when they are 20cm (8inches) tall. This encourages a higher yield of potatoes.
Watering your plants well will improve crop yield and discourage scab from forming.
