Jersey Royal seed potatoes are great for:
- Boiling
- Roasting
- Salads
To sprout seed potatoes, place in a light, cool area. Protect from frost.
Planting can take place as soon as the risk of frost has passed in your area, during spring, March-May. Plant 10-13cm (4-5inches) deep in shallow ridges. Seed should be 20-23cm (8-9inches) apart in the row, with 60cm (24inches) between each row.
Earth the plants up when they are 20cm (8inches) tall. This encourages a higher yield of potatoes.
Watering your plants well will improve crop yield and discourage scab from forming.

My order arrived promptly and in good condition. However on opening I was disappointed with the large disparity in the size of the seed potatoes. However my purchase was aimed at growing Jersey potatoes as they used to be when seaweed was used as the fertilizer giving them a distinctive and wonderful taste. They are beginning to shoot nicely and I have the seaweed based fertilizer ready. I am looking forward to tasting them this summer and I shall then know if it was worthwhile. -
