Freesias produce beautiful scented flowers around June and July. These great value single freesia bulbs come in a mix of colour and work well in pots as well as flower beds and garden borders.
Ideal in borders and using as cut flowers. Freesias prefer a sunny, sheltered location where lowers can be protected from the sun during the hottest part of the day is ideal.
Plant in well drained soil with plenty of peat and sand added.
When starting indoors, not necessary in spring, use a pot or bown and cover with 3 - 5 cm of potting compost. Moisten and put in partial sunlight. Regularly water, but do not drown!
Great care of roots should be taken when transplanting. Keep soil moist during the growing period and insert strong twigs among them to keep the stems upright. Corms are not hardy, only on the Scilly and Channel islands can they be left in the soil.
